Nothing is stored as a finished file

Leaving is not a trap
Export everything as CSV, or delete the account outright from settings. Cancelling Pro stops the billing; it does not lock you out of your data.
Pricing questions
How much does DocuTenant cost?
Previewing any template document is free. A single document is £9, paid once. Pro is £9.99 a month or £89 a year and covers every document on every property, plus the seven AI-written documents and your own logo on the output.
What does £9 actually buy?
One document type for one property. Buy the tenancy agreement for 12 Rose Street and you can download that agreement for that address whenever you need it. It does not expire and there is no renewal.
Can I regenerate a document I have paid for?
Yes, as many times as you like, at no extra cost. Correcting a typo, changing a date or picking up a template rewritten after a law change all cost nothing once you have bought that document for that property.
What if I have several properties?
A single purchase covers one document type at one address, so a second property needs its own purchase. There is no cap on how many properties you can add or preview against. If you are buying more than a few documents, Pro works out cheaper.
Why would I pay for Pro instead of buying documents one at a time?
Pro pays for itself at around two documents a month. It also unlocks the seven AI-written documents and puts your own logo on every document. A landlord starting one tenancy usually wants a single document; a landlord running several usually wants Pro.
Can I buy an AI-written document on its own?
No. The seven AI-written documents — property listings, welcome packs, reference requests, contractor instructions, inspection reports, checkout reports and updated listings — are part of Pro only. The 40 template documents are the ones sold singly.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, if the document cannot be generated or comes out materially defective. Because a document is delivered the moment you pay, the 14-day cancellation right for digital content does not survive that delivery, so the checkout asks you to agree to immediate supply before it takes payment. The terms set this out in full.
Is the preview really free?
Yes. You can build every template document with your own details and preview it as many times as you like without paying. The first page shows in full, so you can see your details on a real page and how long the document is; the other pages stay blurred until you buy. The preview carries a watermark; the file you download does not.
What happens when the law changes?
The templates are updated and you regenerate from your existing data at no extra cost. That is the reason documents are generated on demand rather than stored as finished files — a stored PDF goes out of date the moment the legislation moves.
Can I use DocuTenant for properties in both England and Scotland?
Yes. Jurisdiction is set per property, not per account, so a portfolio spanning both gets the right tenancy agreement, the right notice and the right rent-increase form for each address.
Is there a discount for paying yearly?
Yes. £89 a year against £9.99 a month works out at roughly two and a half months free.
